New Samsung A53 can't connect stable to Wifi on Deco X60, connection keeps dropping
I bought a replacement phone for my Samsung Galaxy S8, the new Galaxy A53 5G. Already out of the box performing the installation I couldn't get a connection to my Wifi Mesh network (Deco X60). Once in a while it did actually connect but not for long and when disconnected it often coulnd't reconnect again. After being very patient I finally made it through the whole setup process, but the connections still dropped.
On my S8 (still works fine apart from battery life) I have no problems at all. Also my wife's phone (S9) and my 4 daughters (S8 and 3 diffferent Iphones) experience no problems with the wifi whatsoever. All the other objects (Smart-tv, e-reader, Chromecasts, etc) work fine as do my work-laptop and my wife's. We've got the Deco X60 Mesh network running since august 2021.
Of course I tried to find out what it could be, so I ran a lot of tests, trying ever 'switch' in the settings. Because I thought my new phone was the problem I even reset it to factory default and reran the whole setup again, but still the same problem. Eventually I set up a second wifi-network with my old router and to my surprise I had no problems connecting to that wifi at all. The new A53 isn't the problem, its wifi works fine and fast (run several tests) but the connection to my Deco X60 is the problem.
I've posted this same problem on the Samsung Members forum, and a guy told me to post my problem here for he has had the exact same problem and an alternative Firmware version was the solution for him. So hopefully it will work for me to. Where can I get such alternative firmware?

Hello @David-TP,
My issue was resolved, just disabled beamforming. The engineer mentioned that others have different issues.
Thanks for the help in resolving my case.

Does Tp Link already have a DEFINITE solution to the problem? When will there be an update that resolves the issue? Thanks.

This problem has been known since April and nothing substantial has still happened. I'm starting to believe that we won't get any fix to this problem. I've tried to solve this with both TP-Link and Samsung with no results. Samsung won't even admit the problem. Maybe there just isn't enough A53 and Deco X60 users that it's not worth the effort to fix it. We are on our own.

Hi @David-TP ,
My Samsung A33 also has the issue same as the Samsung A53 of dropping connection to the Deco x20
I saw your reply update that a firmware update is coming. To clarify, will the firmware update be coming to the x20 deco, or coming to the Samsung phones?
Also, would you know an approx time of update arrival?
Thank you
Kind Regards,
David

All,
My a53 is updated to all the latest software.
Still no improvement.
Even with the guest ssid enabled it doesn't work.
This is almost a year now ....
It will be my last Samsung and Tp Link hardware for sure.

Hello everyone,
I'm the one who started this thread in April last year. It's january '23 now and I still have the same problems. I'm really disappointed in the whole thing and the TP-link products won't be high on my recommendations list. I'm really hoping the promised firmware update will provide a solution, but I'm rather cynical.....
I haven't had any problems to connect my A53 to other Wifi networks (public networks on vacations and other private networks from friends/work). Hoping for a happy New Year.

I have the same problem but I thought that the A53 does not support wifi 6 and that is the problem. This could not be solved with a firmware update or is it possible? I hope so!
