ANSWERED!... turns out in the UK/EU it's 12.8 watts.. and in US, it's 14.8w

Hi.. does anyone have a set of X50 Decos that can check the base and tell me the POE wattage?.. due to a shortage of power points that would be a hassle to have added in out of the way locations, I want to use the POE capability of the X50, so I can locate a POE switch in one or two central locations and power them up from those... but I need to know the wattage demand on the POE port, so I can get appropriate POE switches for the number of DECO units running off each.. I have tried looking on the TPlink website and clicked specifications, but cannot find the wattage, so looking to the forum for answers

  @Unk Welcome to the community.

So far Deco X50 does not support POE and we plan to release two other models, Deco X50-outdoor and Deco X50-POE which will support Power over Ethernet.

  @David-TP Thats VERY disappointing, given that TP announced in January that it would be released in Q2 this year (further searching after I started this thread).. if it's still in development, then it isn't in manufacturing yet and we can probably look at the end of the year before it's actually available.. if not later... given the 'life' of WiFi5, WiFi6 will be half way through before you get the product out there. :( 

 

I shall have to look for alternatives, my clients can't wait THAT long.

Hi, what I said might not be correct earlier. Deco X50-POE is an actual model but given it will be our first POE router, we still need to prepare for all kinds of information. As for more details about the release date, I might need to check with the engineers on Monday.

  @David-TP I have completed the survey, but based on what I want to do within my own home, not that of my client... Please let me know as soon as a date is released for the Deco x50 POE and where I can get it from (also DECO x50 Outdoors)
