C6 Onemesh on/off firmware?
Are there any plans yet for an official release of the beta firmware that allows you to switch OneMesh on and off? People have been referred to the Beta version for well over a year now?
And does this beta version resolve the problem of the 2.4Ghz WiFi loosing Internet connection from time to time? It is causing major problems with my home security system which can only connect to 2.4Ghz networks.
Lastly, being from South Africa, if I want to install the Beta version, which one do I use since we are neither US or EU?

Sorry that we still don't get any notice from the engineering team when will the official firmware will be available for the EU hardware. BTW, as I can confirm from the local website, South Africa also sells EU hardware:

Are you saying yours is not an EU version? Can I have the bottom sticker on your router? You can mask the MAC and SN for any security concerns.

@Kevin_Z Thank you for the reply. I had a look and you are 100% correct - it is indeed the EU version. I never even thought of looking at the bottom. 🤦♂️
Will the beta software solve the 2.4Ghz connection issue? If not I will have to get another router. I was in love with my Archer until this issue popped up - now I'm not sure I can buy another TP-Link. 😪

I see in other threads that several people say the beta version doesn't resolve the 2.4Ghz disconnect issue. It is very disappointing that in more than 2 years this has not been fixed - not even in a beta version that has been in beta for over 2 years.
It means I am now forced to buy a new router and I will definitely look at something other than TP-LINK.

As I can confirm, most of the customers do install the beta firmware that allows disabling the Onemesh feature and it resolves the 2.4G issue. But I honestly cannot guarantee it will resolve all issues since the wireless issue could be affected by so many factors, such as interference in your network, the location of the router, settings on the router as well as in your internet, etc.
I personally suggest you install it on your C6 first just to monitor it for some time, if it doesn't help, you can always contact the local tech support to be advertised further:

@Kevin_Z The Beta didn't solve the problem. I am now trying another Beta which someone posted in another thread which was received from the support desk in France and the poster said it worked for him. So far it is working but it's early days....

@Kevin_Z It occurs very randomly so difficult to know for sure when I can say it is working. It could be weeks or longer but I will post if it DOES happen again. Until I advise differently it IS working. :)

@Kevin_Z It has been 6 days and my 2.4Ghz WiFi is still behaving so the beta supplied by the French support desk (not the standard beta) looks like it might solve that issue.
However, since yesterday I now have a new issue and I am now fed up wasting hours to get things to work the way they should. I'm am now really regretting buying a tp-link router.
Yesterday my laptop and today my android tv box just lost internet connecting out of the blue while I was busy using them - both at the time saying connected to wifi but no internet. Everything else in my house connected to the 2.4Ghz as well as the 5Ghz wifi at the same time carried on working perfectly with full Internet accessl - phones, tvs, camera etc. No amount of disconnecting and reconnecting or rebooting these 2 devices could get them back to having Internet access until I rebooted the router which immediately restored their Internet access. Both were connected to 5Ghz when the problem started but they were unable to reconnect to either 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz afterwards until the router was rebooted.
I can not carry on with these constant issues!

Are you using different SSIDs for the 2.4G and 5G networks? when the laptop and android TV box lose internet access, are they still getting a valid IP address from the router? You may try assigning a static IP address for these two, then monitor again.

@Kevin_Z The two networks have different SSIDS. I do not know how to check whether the devices maintained their IP addresses but a network diagnostics test on the laptop returned the error that the DNS server is not responding. But all other devices connected to the same network continued with a perfect connection.
