Model: TL-WR902AC
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: BUILD 191018

We are trying to use a Tp-link TL-wr902ac in client mode.

The problem is this:

the internet connection of the device we are trying to connect to the wireless network is unstable. It remains 5 minutes, then it goes for a few minutes and so on. DUring this down time the tp-link is pingable from the device.

Furthermore, by monitoring the access point, we noticed that sometimes the IP address seen is the one of the tp-link, sometimes the IP seen is the one the tp-link has assigned to the device.

It would seem that the disconnections are related to this IP change which happens every few minutes.

There is a known compatibility issue between tp-link and ruckus?

Do you mean the wireless signal of the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point is unstable and the WR902AC will lose the connection? If that is the case, it's suggested to troubleshoot on the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point to make the wireless connection stable.

Regarding the IP change, I assume it might be related to the Smart DHCP feature when the WR902AC is working in Client mode, it will turn on its own DHCP server when it loses the connection from the host router.

The connection was unstable with the 5Ghz wifi. Now, with the 2.4Ghz, it's stable.

About the IP change, the "Smart IP (DHCP)" (i think you mean this option) is deactivated since it gives to the device a totally wrong ip that has nothing to do with my subnet.

Under "network", I set a Static IP (192.168.11.122) that is the one of the tp-link I presume.

Then, under "DHCP" I set as Start and End IP 192.168.11.100 with a default gateway with an IP 192.168.11.122. This to give to the device always the same IP address (192.168.11.100) due to the impossibility to set a static IP in the device network card (it's a particular device).

WIth this configuration, the IP seen by the ruckus is sometimes 192.168.11.100 and sometimes 192.168.11.122. Any particular reason? I'm doing something wrong? I found this configuration to be the only one working, with just this annoying problem of the changing IP.

The two IP have the same mac address.

Where did you configure the Start and End IP range? On the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point or on the WR902AC?

If you have deactivated the smart DHCP on the WR902AC, you could choose static IP, then give it a static IP that is within the IP subnet of the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point, let's say 192.168.11.122.

You can also try to configure DHCP Address Reservation on the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point for the WR902AC to give it a fixed IP that binds to its MAC address. This is the guide to configure Address Reservation on the TP-Link routers, you may search for similar settings on your Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point.

Where did you configure the Start and End IP range? The WR902AC, to give the device connected to it always the same IP. This, because I can't configure a static IP in the device connected.

If you have deactivated the smart DHCP on the WR902AC. The smart function is not active

You can also try to configure DHCP Address Reservation on the Ruckus ZoneFlex Access Point for the WR902AC to give it a fixed IP that binds to its MAC address. The ruckus is not the problem. The problem is that the WR902AC pass 2 IPs. Sometimes it pass the IP of the WR902AC and sometimes the IP of the device that is connected to the IP.  And these IPs have always the same MAC address.
