Firmware Version:

I"m trying to update the firmware on my Powerline TL-PA4010 KIT(UK) Ver:3.0.

 

I have downloaded the firmware from the support page.  The downloaded file appears to be for EU even though I have selected UK version 3.

 

The update fails, so I'm wondering if the downloaded file is incorrect.

 

The filename is TL-PA4010(EU)V3_180914

 

If this is incorrect for the UK model, please point me to the correct file.

Thank you for starting a detailed thread.  

For powerline devices, sometimes the UK local website lists the (EU) version firmware, most of the time it is a common firmware for (UK)/(EU).

NVM & PIB or GGL is firmware file for wired powerline units, firmware is updated via tpPLC Utility:
How to update the firmware using tpPLC Utility (new logo)?

 

Temporarily turn off firewall or antivirus software and see if that makes any difference. 

 

If that failed, can I have a photo of the error message when firmware update got failed? 

Please share a photo of the file names that has been uploaded and a photo of the back label on TL-PA4010 for us to double confirm the model & country version, thank you.

Sorry for the late reply, and really appreciated for the photos, the firmware files looks fine to me if you uploaded the PIB.NVM. separately. 

If you own a Windows PC, you could also try to update the firmware on a Windows.

I have the same problem with PA2010. I downloaded the utility and firmware on the TPLinks Web Page. When I tried to update the firmware, the update task failed and the plc didnt work (leds do not blink anymore).

I have another kit but I am really not convinced that it will be the same result.
