Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.11.5 Build 220513 Rel.33710n(5347)

Hi to all

Here's my experience trying to connect the Archer C64 (replacement router) to a much older ZXA10 Optical Network Terminal (ONT).

This connects to a fiber line provided by Singtel in Singapore.

I was told to just plug in and all should work - and of course it didn't.

Here is key step missing in the manual - and they probably updated the router firmware.

After signing into the router and running the quick setup - choose the Network Type as Dynamic IP.

There is now a drop down box for Special ISP settings - select the option for Singtel which will provide further settings.

Cheers!

  @Kevin_Z

Thanks for your comments.

Since you responded, some more details may be useful.

As you can tell, I'm just using the router for Internet only.

When I called tp-link tech support, they said to set up Internet type as Dynamic IP as no other information was provided by Singtel.

When that didn't work, I called Singtel and they said Internet was working - even though I plugged in the ONT to a laptop directly.

That didn't work - no connection.

Tp-link tech support should tell users that it's not just plug and play - then *pray* :-) but to look out for a ISP profile prompt during in the set up.

Then select the appropriate ISP. However, this is not in the tp-link manual.

The ISP profiles cover a few countries - Vietnam, Bangladesh etc and this should be highlighted.

Cheers
