Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20220818 Rel. 36457

Bought the 3 pack Deco M5.

I have one issue with one satellite deco.. it has low signal range base from application. I tried hardware reset and still low signal range, the Deco satellite (office) could not connect or is having red blinking light even if it is just outside the room. The main deco (bedroom) is okay, and the 2nd satellite (hallway) is working as expected.

Tried troubleshooting the issue, I removed the network and set the office deco m5 as the 'main' deco... however, after setting him up, the signal to hallway and bedroom is low.

Seems that there is an issue with the 3rd deco m5.. is there a way to fix this?

PS: when the office deco m5 was setup as main deco - even in LAN, my desktop is getting only 90-100mbps internet connection. if I  setup the other two as main (bedroom and hallway - both can get 200mbps easily).

I already tried changing/disabling 2.4/5 ghz but still no avail, the last deco still has issues. Even tried wifi router or AP mode. picture below shows signal strength between decos, but they are just beside each other.

You quite obviously have defective Deco M5 unit. You did good investigation and troubleshooting, and everything points to one conclusion.

If you can still return the set, you should do that and order new one. If you can't, see what warranty replacement options are available to you.

Before returning set or sending unit for warranty replacement, please remove them fom your Deco mesh in Deco app, while Deco unit(s) are online. That will factory reset them and avoid potential issues in the future.

This is hardware issue, but you have nothing to lose other than your time, so here is the secret way to downgrade. Which could brick your Deco unit if done wrong.

Follow firmware recovery process. How to use firmware recovery if the Deco become brick. Go to TP-Link official Deco M5 support web site and download M5 firmware you want to downgrade your Deco to. Usually they have 1-2 previous versions. Use it for firmware recovery process. If completed successfully, you have downgraded your Deco M5 firmware.

Thank you very much, yes, seems a hardware issue. Tried and still not working... and I just realized that its not even broadcasting the SSID!! it only works for my desktop which is connected via lan. How sad. anyway, thanks for the assistance and happy holidays! partly sad though, its holidays and such a time to encounter such an issue.
