  @Se1lad

Hi, It is a pre-released version prior to the official release and has been through the full testing process, not beta firmware. The official release might still need some time.

So far, It still does not support "Test internet speed".

Best regards.

  @David-TP This is really great to see! Hoping it comes to the W6000 line soon. I kept my system because it has been rock solid.

Thank you for listening to the community!

  @David-TP Hello. I've recently returned my Deco X50 V1.0 (3 pack) because I had realized that I just needed 2 of them (specially since I made a wired backhaul connection between them), so I could save some money getting the 2 pack. The problem is that the new 2 units that just arrived today are hardware version 1.2. Am I still able to update them with the new firmware released? I really don't want to miss the node/band selection feature because i found it sooo useful. Sometimes my devices switch between 2.4ghz / 5 ghz band and I just want them to stay in the one I desire.

  @AlbertGM

Hi, welcome to the community.

I am afraid it might be bad news for you that this early-release firmware is not suitable for V1.2, only for V1.

There will be the same firmware for V1.2 later but the ETA is not clear yet.

So far, I think the Deco X50 V1-3 pack would still be a better choice or if you can buy it in local store, 2*1 pack Deco X50 V1 would also be a workaround.

(By the way, normally there would be a product label on the box and it marks out the Hardware V1, V1.2 or V2).

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @Papaey Hi,It is a very good question and since this feature hasn't been tested yet, I am not sure the answer yet.

Please wait for a while and I might need to consult the senior engineers first.

---Update:

It did not support wake on LAN via VPN.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP That's really bad to hear... I don't like the incertitude of not knowing if my units are going to receive the same updates as the V1 hardware. I guess I'll just Contact Amazon and ask them to send me a V1 2 units pack.

By the way, could you tell me the difference between V1, V1.2 & V2 hardware versions? I don't really understand why tp link does this with their devices.... At least they could release the updates at the same time.

  @David-TP well done, it's on test (2 X50 v1.0, wired backhaul). as a side note, the wired one disappeared after a software restart of the whole system, i needed to switch off and disconnect/reconnect ethernet backhaul, then the wired one reappeared correctly. at the moment it's all up and running. (still need the "static IPv6 option" as a feature in next releases ;) :D )

  @AlbertGM This is the biggest problem with TP-Link devices, they will release V1 then a few months later they release V1.2 which is different specs to V1. It's like if you get V1 units, you are being a guinea pig and doing the testing for them, but you'll never get all the updates or later support as they've moved on to a newer version of the system.

I've has this with quite a lot of my older TP-Link routers. It also the same even if on V1 where I've found that UK users don't get all the updates seen for other countries.
