Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have an Archer AX6000 v1 with very unstable wifi. There hasn't been a firmware update since 2020 for v1 but there has been for the v2 revision. I know typically you can't use the firmware from another device but in some cases you can. For this router, can you?

Different HW versions are usually with different chipset. Uploading FW release for different HW version on a device shouldn't be possible.

If you try to do that, most probably the upgrade procedure will terminate with an error message.

If this was helpful click once on the arrow pointing upward. If this solves your issue, click once the star to mark it as a "Recommended Solution".

Hello @Bhjs77

terziyski is right. It's not recommended to install a specific firmware that released for another hardware, which is different from yours, that may cause hardware failure when updating.

The good news is the new official firmware for Archer AX6000 V1 is on the way, and you could be able to check for the updates this week. Please wait and check for the updates on your router later.

Thank you very much for your feedback and patience.

  @Kevin_Z

Hi, that's wonderful news that new FW is coming out for V1. Is there somewhere other than the product page I would find it? The latest firmware I see posted is from 2020 so I'm unsure if it's posted elsewhere or this will be the first update in years.

Is there any suggestions on what fixes it may contain?

@Bhjs77

You could also find the official firmware on the product website as below once it's publicly released:

Regarding the improvements or fixes, I assume it could be more or less similar to the release note we updated in the following thread for the beta version:
