Hardware Version: V1

Firmware Version: 1.1.9 Build 20221208 rel.55426(4555)

When I connect to the VPN with the OpenVPN protocol (SurfShark), my connection speed slows down enormously. I go from 950Mbts to 10Mbts.

Anyone know why?

For information the router is connected directly to the Internet without going through a modem in bridge mode

Hi,

As per other threads here in the community, you will find 10Mbts would be normal with the AX55 when connecting it to a OpenVPN server as a client, and this has been discussed here:

VPN client on AX55 - slow performance

Since AX55 has already support WireGuard VPN, it's suggested to connect to VPN servers via WireGuard, that would improve the speed a lot I believe.
