Deco X50 5G - Red light issue

Hello, I am using Deco X50-5G as a main modem.
Every day, a few times, a solid red light appears on the modem and it needs to be reset (I re-plug the power cable). My ISP confirmed that there is no issue in the 5G signal.
Could there be something wrong with the Deco modem? It's very annoying..

Some operators show the frequencies on their websites, some don't. I've had to do quite a bit of studying as well since buying the X50-5G, since I wasn't very familiar with LTE and 5G networks before. I'll give some links but this forum says external links are illegal, so I'll give you some google keywords instead.
DNA is is quite open about it and posts them on the website, they usually use either 3500MHz band for high speed where there's more people or 700MHz band to get better reception indoors. The frequency bands reserved for operators in Finland can be found by googling "Matkaviestinverkkojen taajuudet", all operators have a 700MHz band reserved for 5G, but not sure how they use them. Based on cellmapper dot net it would seem that they all use the 700MHz N28 band to get basic 5G coverage.
What puzzled me for a long time was that my Deco doesn't report any 5G bands in the "Internet" section, but if I get to the "Additional Information" section I see things like: LTE BAND 3, LTE BAND 8, LTE BAND 1, NR5G BAND 28. I've come to the conclusion that the UI must be wrong and the additional information is actually showing the bands it is using, maybe it doesn't show the 5G band because there's only a single band, don't know... Either way, you can map these band numbers to frequencies by for example googling "5G NR frequency bands", the Wikipedia page works for me. As far as I know LTE and 5G use the same band numbers, but 5G just has more bands available. 28 and 48 are common 5G bands in Finland while 1, 3, 8 and 20 are common LTE bands.
NSA in this context means non-standalone mode (not the National Security Agency ;) which means the base communication with the network goes over LTE, but the 5G network is used for faster download and upload speeds for data. Therefore, in 5G NSA mode you must have access to both 4G and 5G bands for the network to work. I'm not sure if it's the ISP configuration or the X50-5G, but I haven't been able to get it to standalone mode. It probably wouldn't make sense anyway, since the 700MHz frequency will probably be slower than 4G, especially for single band upload, unless combined with at least one 4G band (of which the router seems to strongly prefer 1800MHz for me). And based on my experimentation the router is sometimes giving me double the upload speed in 5G mode compared to the 4G mode, so I'm inclined to believe it does use the 5G network properly. There's not a big difference in the download speed for me, 5G is only slightly higher, but DL often goes to around 200Mbps which is plenty in the middle of a forest.
You are correct, my recent observations are based on v1.2.0 and I'm not using any frequency locking or band locking. I've only been on v1.2.0 for a couple of days but so far I've seen less weird activity than before. It's worth to note that some people have had high CPU usage for that firmware though, especially if using QoS and multiple Decos, and it's not possible to downgrade it to 1.1.x after upgrading. But it's worked for me so far, and gives me a VPN connection to the router which is nice especially if it disappears from the cloud service but is otherwise working (which has happened).

Thank you very much, changing the SIM card PIN setting in the app also solve my reconnection issue.

Hi, do you mean the APN profile for "O2"? O2 is the name of a Telco provider.
Most of the APN profiles are worldwide, and there are also ISP profiles specific to certain regions based on the location of your TP-Link ID.
Best regards.

Hi, I bought the Deco X50-5G on Mon. (UK)
I'm not the greatest at tech, but not the worst either.
Got it all set up eventually and connected my device's.
Worked flawlessly for six days.
Today the red lights is more on than off.... connected without Internet!
My mobile phone is with same carrier and is working as normal, but Ive checked with my carrier anyway and no network issues.
Tried a different carriers sim and red light issue persists.
I've rebooted etc. I have a VPN which I've disabled.
I seem to get connection for only a few minutes at a time b4 it's red again.
Solutions in this thread are a bit too technical for my knowledge to be honest, not to mention there doesn't seem to be an overall guaranteed solution.
Unless anyone has any updated solutions, I think I'll just return it......

As an update to the above...
For past 6 days when working flawlessly, they LED was green (correct I believe)?
I have unplugged again and tried the other carrier sim again and this time the LED has stayed solid blue for about 30mins or so and internet connection has remained solid.
I thought solid blue light was part of the setting up.
I'm wary to go near it again but this sim was just borrowed so unfortunately needs must.
Any thoughts on the above pls?
Cheers

@ellkay it's indeed a bit complicated, since TP-Link seems to sell multiple slightly different device versions under the name of X50-5G.
The best non-technical advice I can give is to go to the Deco app and into "More -> System" and check the Firmware Version. Mine is 1.2.1 Build 20250413 from this year, and this is the first software that has worked for me without the red light issue.
If you have a smaller version, you could try pressing "Update Deco" and see if you can get the latest version, it might fix the red light issue. If that works, I'd also recommend to set the Reboot Schedule to at least weekly.
Hope this helps, if it still doesn't work after these actions might be best to return the device while you still have the option. This is not official advice but just someone who's been fighting with these.

Hi, many thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated!
I checked the firmware yesterday during my attempts at troubleshooting and it was up to date.(Same version as yours).
I also did more than one reboot over the hours spent on it, but if do I keep it I will certainly take heed of your recommendation re setting a schedule.
Since I swapped the sims back again last night it seems to have settled down again, and whilst not as flawless as it was previously, at least the dreaded red LED hasn't reared it's head again so far(fingers firmly crossed!)
Also, back with the original sim the LED returned to green as i believe it should be. Still no idea why the other sim LED stayed solid blue for over two hours in the end, yet worked perfectly.
I have 30 days to return so I'll stick with it now that it's playing nicely again and see how it goes.
Cheers

Quick update:
The red light issue reared it's ugly head again next day.
I spoke to support for over 30 mins, ran thru lots of things to try but unfortunately none worked.
They decided it was a faulty unit and authorised its return for a full no hassle refund or replacement and gave me reference numbers etc in case of any problems.
The router has been so much hassle that I'll be taking the refund. However can't fault the customer service thus far.
