Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20211118 rel.71177(5553)

I have been experiencing sporadic connectivity drops from multiple devices since adding this router to my home network.  The sporadic loss of connectivity lasts just a few seconds and get re-established with no action on my part. The devices experience the drops equally if they are connected via wifi or via ethernet.  The drops occur 3-5 times daily.  This is really affecting my ability to work.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and/or found a solution?

My network setup:

  • Internet provider: Xfinity by Comcast
  • Modem: Motorola MB8611
  • Router: Archer AX6000 v2 wired directly to Modem

I have been logging the connectivity drops through repetitive pings to a public IP address and have correlated them to event logs on the router.  It appears that the drops are associated with a partial reset of services on the router.  A sample of my logs are pasted below.

After several days of troubleshooting, I believe I have solved my own problem.

In addition to my Modem/router setup, I have a Ring Home alarm system configured at our house.  The Ring hub was located on a shelf 2-3" above the antennas of the AX6000.  As I went through my process of elimination, I noticed that the stopping/starting of the services on the router stopped when the hub was moved away from the router or turned off.  After several days of testing, I am confident that something about the close proximity of these two devices caused some interference that resulted in the router recycling certain services.  The Ring hub has been relocated away from the AX6000 and I am free of intermittent drops.

Hopefully this saves time for others facing similar disruption of service on the AX6000.

Cheers.

Is your WAN port on AX6000 set to auto negotiate?

Hi @Cawsie, thank you for your response.

Yes, I have the WAN port set to the default to auto-negotiate.

@StephanTPCom

Will the LED turn orange/red when the wired and wireless devices drop internet connectivity?

Does this issue happen recently?
