Hi guys

Having a bit of trouble setting up my router on my home network and looking for any pointers

I have a TP link AXE75 with starlink gen 2 rectangular dish and starlink router in bypass mode

When i have everything set up and working, IPs reserved in dhcp (Wifi adapters and other clients) then I introduce a raspberry pi 4b running pihole as a recursive dns server I get the message ip conflict detected we are changing from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1 and breaks everything on my network

I have been reading this thread Click me and tried to change my subnet from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 and pihole starts working a few seconds i get another message lan and wan cannot be in the same subnet and wifi shuts down

Now I have another raspberry pi 4b running openmediavault that i havent connected yet as I need to get my network up and running properly before i even try to connect it

Another thing I have found was that in dhcp reservation clients go missing from the list that i have saved, they still use the dhcp reserved IP's

Also in network map / clients not all clients showing up

I have been playing around with this subnet calculator but I really dont understand how it works to be honest

Thanks in advance

  @Kevin_Z

thanks for your reply

Yes all firmwares are upto date on extenders and AXE75, and all connected with One mesh

I have purchased a new pair of wifi adapters "TP-Link Deco Voice X20 AX1800 Whole Home Mesh" they are wifi 6 unlink the RE adapters that I have now

I have set DHCP to 192.168.1.1 same as router just like the link you posted, It seems to be working so far records are starting to populate

What I have done was on each device just pointed its dns towards Pihole ip address

Fingers crossed thats my problem sorted

The devices not showing up are running through a tp link switch ( i have 2 switches both tp link TL-SG105E & TL-SG108E )

That doesnt really bother me to be honest as they are working perfect with dhcp reservations and I can log in to them and FTP into them with putty and filezilla

Thanks a lot guys for the help :thumbsup

Hi,

Could you please provide the community with the exact details of what "I introduce a raspberry pi 4b" involves?

I mean, do you just connect the Ethernet cable from the Raspberry to one of the LAN ports of the Archer AXE75 and things go awry right away? Or is there more involved than that?

Sorry swapping between 5g and wifi for screen grab of connected without internet Ssid is startplink as seen in picture

I have tried using opendns on router and changing to ipihole ip on devices on network, some devices connect to piholle and some dont get internet at all,

On devices that dont connect i change back to opendns i connect to internet I have my pihole set up as a recursive dns server with unbound Just trying to give as much information as possible

Another thing I have just this second noticed is the guest wireless network cannot be found in a wireless scan of WiFi networks maybe this has something to do with the connected without interneht on main StarTPlink

Hello @r0undym0on3y

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the TP-Link community.

Regarding the Pi-hole DNS configurations concerns, please check this thread as suggested by terziyski. You may try configuring the Pi-hole DNS under DHCP Server:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/571104?replyId=1112854

Regarding the client list displayed in the Network Map, can I know whether those devices that are not showing up are connected to the range extenders or are they connected directly to the AXE75 wireless? Are the two range extenders connected to the AXE75 via Onemesh?

Please confirm if the devices that are connected to the AXE75 wireless network are showing up correctly. Also make sure you are installing the latest firmware on both extenders.
