  @IntrovertSins you might want to check that you are getting 160Mhz.

The ASUS does have an option to select 160Mhz and another to allow DFS channels.

But if you enable using DFS channels and radar is detected or if it's disabled and there aren't 8 contiguous channels it will silently drop to 80Mhz.

That's becuase, like the TP Link device, it must comply with wireless regulator requirements in the given region.

There may be a bug with the TP Link devices detecting radar signals, I don't know ...

This is the dumbest least useful terrible feature. I have problems on most Zoom calls now and it's always this incredibly stupid feature I can't turn off.

Makes the Deco system utterly annoying for day to day work. If you live in an urban environment, there is radar everywhere.

And wow, I am now on with tp-link support and the (supposedly) live agent is asking me to send him a video of my using their app to switch 80 to 160 mhz

  @OriginalLimey Because they don't believe you that it does this?

How is it more than a year and this issue isn't fixed?

It happens ALL THE TIME.

If I could return this garbage, I would...  in fact, I may push the reseller to take it back.

By the way... has anybody else noticed that the speed test is BS?   It's a test between the modem and the router only.   My internet was degraded to 500mbps and the Deco was still showing 2.25Gbps up and down.

  @IntrovertSins I have been suffering with this same issue to the point that I was about to drop a serious amount of money on a new setup. However... I finally discovered what the issue is, what is causing it for me, and how I finally resolved it.

of all things, my robot vacuum relies on radar sensors to get to and fro.. it dawned on me this morning that it must be the source of my interference. I unplugged it, left it unplugged, rebooted the entire network and problem solved.

Anybody need a lightly used robot vacuum??? :)

  @raven-au

Today I noticed a pattern. Every time that I turn on my xbox series the wifi drops from 160Mhz to 80Mhz.

For sure Tp-Link have a great explanation for it, my XBOX is a radar in a xbox body.

  @IntrovertSins

I've been thinking about this as it is super annoying. I too am thinking about just replacing everything.. just give us an on/off switch in this already !!!!!

I'm not sure why mine keep doing it either. But two new sources I've thought of.
1. Ecobee thermostat sensors that can detect people present in the room

2. My vehicles have all kinds of radar sensors on it for pre collision detection etc.  (just noticed a few posts up that someone has concerns about vehicle radar also)

neither of these things can be eliminated from my home/life.  If your product can't deal with these sorts of everyday signals then you should not even include the 160 band.

Does anyone else have Ecobee thermostat sensors?

  @JohnLawyer

Hi I have same issue! I choose disable switching but it switches anyway. I recently invested in 6 decos.  They work well but when it switched to 80 it slows everything down! And it doesn't seem to switch back either. If I can't turn this off and it only stays on 80 after switching that means it's only working on 80 in reality. Deco tech, if you can't fix this, how can I return these?

Thank you
