Deco X90 Satellite Connection issues
I recently upgraded my Deco X90 system to firmware 1.2.2 and I've been having issues with connections between the main and satellite units ever since. I have 2 nodes in my system and I use wireless backhaul between them, with a distance of one floor between the units. They've been previously extremely stable with no issues. Since upgrading to 1.2.2 I've had trouble getting the units to connect to each other at the same distance they were before. I've factory reset the network a few times and have swapped which unit is the main one and which is the satellite but it hasn't improved things. I've currently had to move the satellite closer to the main unit to get any kind of stable connections between them, but this is not idea. Is this a known issue or couid someone help me diagnose what's going on here?

Wanted to jump in and say I just updated to 1.2.2 and my satellites no longer get a signal. Looks like we're waiting for a patch.

@clancy from what I can tell is that they've killed the power, standing 4 ft from the Main I have a signal strength of -50 dBm, usually that's -30, or less. And if the strength between the Main and the Satillite hits -60 or close to that, that's when it drops. So for me that's about 10 feet and a floor.
With 1.1.7, -62 was a floor and two walls and 30-35 feet away.
I'm miffed. They seem to have rollback instructions for everything but X90. And depending on the time of day, I hit a website with 1.1.7 and 1.2.2 and other times it's only as high as 1.1.6.

Clearly there is an issue with firmware 1.2.2. I am surprised that TP Link have not removed it from their website to protect other customers from downloading it. Also not very impressive that no-one from TP - Link has posted with an update or advice.

@Engladian I've reverted my X90's back to 1.1.7, using this TP article: https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/faq/2958/
PITA setting one of my machines to 192.168.0.2, plus you lose all your settings and reservations, but I'm back to full power and stable connections with my satellite and back in it's original spot. Support was focus on "The Map" and any appliances, and didn't get that it was working 100% with 1.1.7 and unreachable with 1.2.2. I had to move the device to 1/3 of it's distance in order to have a moderately stable connection, though it still blipped every 20 minutes or so.
Would be nice to have an easier roll back, but 1.2.2 in its current build (june11 2023) should be removed until the signal/power issue is resolved.

Really appreciate the steps for rollback. I might give it a try. I'm definitely in the same boat, even a device close to the main Deco drops every 20 minutes.

@Korbyn Thanks for the article! I followed the instructions and both the router and satellite kept their settings. I was able to revert the firmware to 1.1.7. I'm running in AP mode. I'm not sure if that makes any differences in keeping settings.

Tried for about an hour today to use the uboot GUI and could not get the firmware recovery page to load. I did get a flashing green light after power on and holding the reset for about 10 seconds but the GUI would not connect. PC Ethernet set to 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0 and tried HTTP://192.168.0.1
Anyone have any luck with uboot?

@clancy I used uboot. I went to 192.168.0.1 on a Chrome on my computer which shows the error page. I disconnected the router from the uplink connection, then connected an Ethernet cable to my computer which has the same IP you set, then disconnected the power from the router, held reset, plugged in power while still holding the reset, then Chrome automatically reloaded the page when upload page was ready.

@Engladian Support is supposed to call me tonight to: "collect the necessary logs and then I'll help you downgrade to 1.1.7". I'll update everyone when that happens.
