Solution Improve Network Status and APP Control on Deco X50/X55
This Article Applies to:
Deco X50/Deco X55_V1
Issue Description:
In a large or high-density wireless network, usually, more than 3 Deco units are installed around the house to provide high network throughput and full WiFi coverage. With the network system running over time, some issues may arise if the unnecessary background processes run out of most of the RAM usage, such as:
- Deco APP is slow to load or sync with the latest network status.
- Clients are missing or display the wrong online/offline status and connection type.
- Advanced features are missing under Deco APP>More or get "unable to save, please try again later" during configuration.
Available Solution:
Please make sure both your Deco APP and Deco X50/X55_V1 are up-to-date. The latest version should fix the issues here already.(updated 6.25)

Do you have any information on the X55 Pro firmware update? The current firmware is quite limited in terms of basic features. There's no IoT network, band preference, or node preference options. It's surprising that TP-Link seems to have overlooked their first multi-gig mesh like this.
I'm also experiencing issues with a Deco unit and have been in contact with TP-Link Customer Support via email. I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks for the TP-Link engineering team to reach out, but I've just received another similar email asking me to wait for engineering assistance again lol.

Agreed. Any firmware optimization is a bonus.

@David-TP nice to see this beta, i have just experienced an ethernet backhaul speed degradation from 1gbps to 100mbps in a 2 Deco X50 setup, hope this beta can fix this also, just installed & testing.

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.
Can you give me an example, like which port and why?
Usually, the ports will block all the inbound traffic by default for security concerns.
PS. It would be great if you could start a new thread here:

Best regards.

First of all : happy new year!
David, the description " Clients are missing or display the wrong online/offline status and connection type." is still going on.
I am on app version 3.8.129 in iOS and use 3 DECO X50 EU v1.0 with latest firmware. I even have the privacy unfriendly " Client Identification " option turned on.
I am not the only one.
This issue is pretty serious, cause I can't see all of my clients, cause the status online/offline is not right. Many devices, also the ones with no constantly changing MAC address, are not being remembered correctly. So, every now and then, my TP-Link camera (wich I renamed) comes online with the default facory name, wich is not recognisable for me. A have to figure out manually by IP-adress which device is which device.
I find this unbelievable and absolutely not OK for a router app and hardware.
When are these issues fixed? And I mean, that they work als they did for years , before it suddenly did not work anymore a year ago?
Regards
Jan
