No WiFi connection when extender plugged in

When I plugged my WiFi extender in only 1 out of 3 devices connect to it.
My work laptop, an older dell has no problem connecting to the extender and appears to work fine.
My android phone will not connect and if it does it will say no WiFi available.
My personal laptop, Lenovo, will have both the main WiFi and the extender show up as options. However if I try to connect to either of these it will just say 'no internet secured'. Once I turn off the WiFi extender I am able to connect and have internet once again. Doesn't matter if I'm right next to or far away from either device.
I have tried looking online but cannot find a solution. I have tried resetting, forgetting and reconnecting etc.
They appear to have different IP addresses. Not sure what else to try if anyone have a solution.
