Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.31 Build 20230824 Rel: 74320

Im trying to setup my X55 as a VPN server using OpenVPN.

As far as I can see its pretty simple...

I have a fixed IP address and DNS setup for my home broadband so this should be easy right???

ive set it up as per the guides

no errors

exported the .ovpn file and imported to my phone and laptop OpenVPN client but neither will connect, Im sure im missing something

Surely there should be a username and password to setup?? but where

Do you have to setup a port on the deco app for this?

Any help would be great

  @AlanUKWatson

Hi, The exported OpenVPN config file is the authentication key to connect to the Deco OpenVPN server.

Apart from the configuration, It is suggested to check the IPV4 address on the Deco to make sure it is a public IP so that there is no double NAT issue.

Double NAT

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

   Hi David

    Its a fixed IP address and no double NAT

Moved to a non OpenVPN setup and worked first time, im thinking there is an error in the OpenVPN implimentation on the deco.

Cheers

  @AlanUKWatson

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.

"Moved to a non-OpenVPN setup and worked first time"

Are you saying that, if creating a PPTP or L2TP/IPsec VPN server, it works correctly?

Wait for your reply.
