Hello,

 

About 6 months ago I purchased an AX1800 router and RE505X in hopes of doing mesh wifi with wired backhaul. I did not learn until all was setup that this was unsupported unless in AP mode which defeats the purpose of having a mesh extender in my opinion. I was informed there is a new technology standard called "Easy Mesh" and that my devices would soon support it. I have since update my router to the latest firmware and now have the option but I still see the RE505X V1.0 as "planned" for easy mesh support. I was wondering if there was an ETA on this? Or a Beta firmware I could install to trial this on my RE505X?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Most of the EasyMesh extenders don't support Ethernet Backhaul either.

Currenly only RE315 supports creating EasyMesh over Ethernet Backhaul.

  @David-TP I am referring to Easy Mesh not One Mesh. Easy Mesh is the new standard that is planned for updates for this device which will support ethernet backhaul supposedly. I was wondering about that. The RE315 is an old mesh extender so I don't see why a newer RE505X wouldn't get the update as well. It shows as planned I would just like an ETA!
