Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 191204

Hi all

My company is using this device on a mixture of Win10 and Win7 machines and we are seeing a memory leak if the machines are left running. It takes about 24 hours and then the PCs run out of memory and crash. A reboot fixes it (unsurprisingly).

Using a test app with all of our software removed we can see that the additional installation of this driver causes the memory leak.

Has anyone else noticed this, and do TP-Link have a solution planned for it?

Many thanks

Mat Ingram

  @Mat_I

Hi, welcome to the community.

Did it help if you tried to install the following driver:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/509006

"My company is using this device on a mixture of Win10 and Win7 machines and we are seeing a memory leak if the machines are left running", are you trying to say that you have a memory leak issue on multiple Win10 and Win7 laptops?

May I know how many Archer T3U you have and how long you have had Archer T3U?

Thank you very much and best reagrds.

  @David-TP

Thanks for your reply. We'll try the chipset driver update and see if it makes a difference. On further inspection, it seems we have the memory leak on Win7 and Win10 machines but not on XP machines.

I think we have about a hundred of the devices but there are only about a dozen on the live estate (It's a reasonably recent acquisition for us). That said, it's not the device that's the problem it's the driver, which we have installed on far more machines in preparation for needing to support the 5GHz device. So our "problem" far outweights the number of physical devices we have purchased to date.

More later on this once we have tried the chipset drivers....

thanks again

Early indications suggest that the chipset drivers have made a dramatic improvement. They *may* even have fixed the issue. We will continue to monitor our test program but it's looking hopeful. Thanks very much for your help!
