Model: Archer VR1210v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.0.0 0.9 v6041.0 Build 221027 Rel.12900n

Hi,

I have upgraded the firmware of my Archer VR1210v to the last version available (on the Italian TP-Link Download center). After the update, the router stopped working as it did before. When I logged into the web interface I could not see the "Operation Mode" setting any more.

Before the upgrade, the device was connected to my main router with an Ethernet cable on it's WAN port (and the LAN port on the main router). The operation mode setting was set to "Access Point". This created a segmented network. My main router had its local IP 192.168.1.1 and the TP-Link device received IP 192.168.1.3. The TP-Link's device own  network was 192.168.0.1. This worked completely fine until the firmware Upgrade.

I tried to search the previous firmware to perform a downgrade but I could not find it anymore. Before I upgraded, I also did a backup which generated a file called "ArcherVR1210vV119110612136n.bin" but that unfortunately doesn't include the firmware.

Thank you in advance for any help!

" My main router had its local IP 192.168.1.1 and the TP-Link device received IP 192.168.1.3. The TP-Link's device own  network was 192.168.0.1. This worked completely fine until the firmware Upgrade. "

That  said VR1210v WAN IP address was 192.168.1.3 and VR1210v LAN IP address was 192.168.0.1.

From your description it sounds like Archer VR1210v was doing NAT, which means it couldn't have been running in AP mode.

@terziyski I can assure you that it was in "Access Point" mode. Its IP on the main WiFi was 192.168.1.3 and then it assigned IPs in the form of 192.168.0.1 to the devices connected. From the main WiFi config page I could not see the the devices connected to the A.P., I had to go to the A.P. config page at 192.168.1.3 and then check there.

So the web interface of the TP-Link Archer device was accessible from both IP addresses (192.168.1.3 if I was connected to the main WiFi and 192.168.0.1 if I was connected directly to the TP-Link Archer).

My problem now is I don't have the operation mode setting any more. How do I solve that?

Thank you.

  @Allispossible

Usually in a DSL modem routers there are 3 operating modes:

1.DSL modem router mode

2.3G/4G router mode (if there's a USB port on the device)

3.Wireless router mode

I am pretty sure that you're referring to the "Wireless router mode".

Here's how to configure the device in this mode.

If your new FW release doesn't have the Operation mode menu at all, you probably have to revert back its FW release to a previous version.

I don't have it any more after I upgraded the firmware. That is my problem. I don't have a screenshot of how it looked like before either...
