Disable DHCP Deco X60
Hello,
I have a deco X60, and would like to either disable DHCP completely, or have an option to add static routes to dhcp while in WiFi Router mode, so I can connect to my other networks connected via VPN.
Thanks and kind regards,
Hans

Hi, Welcome to the community.
Currently, Deco needs to be the NAT gateway and DHCP server to guarantee Parental Control and HomeShield features working as expected. We haven't figured out a better solution to get around this restriction. Before that, we still prefer to keep DHCP enabled under wireless router mode.
I think your current firmware of Deco X60_V3_1.2.4 already supports static routes. It should be under Deco APP>More>Advanced.
Thank you very much and best regards.

Thanks for welcoming, and thanks for your reply.
The Deco currently is the NAT gateway, but I don't need parental control or homeshield. I also have a TP-Link AX3000, on which you actually can turn off DHCP and parental control and homeshield still work...
I tried setting a static route in the Deco, but it doesn't send that static route through DHCP. I need my mobile devices (laptops etc.) to get their routes from DHCP, because they only need it when connected to my network, so I shouldn't set it statically.
Kind regards,
Hans

First of all, your voting buttons don't work - they only create a reply with a weird title! Anyway...
Why oh why TP-Link do you think that not having such a fundamental option to disable DHCP on an expensive and technically advanced system is something that customers want?! It's such an oversight and very naive to think that, and will drive a lot of business away.
Please do enable this feature ASAP to address what is clearly a wide-spread annoyance and anger with your customers.

Agreed, at least give us the option to disable the DHCP server. It is quite annoying.
Than it's OUR choice to use the parental options or other functionalities (which I don't want to use anyway)
I'm using Adguard for ad filtering and sometimes I want to block services for my kids but this quite hard because of that DHCP server. I need to make reservations for every device in order to create clients in AdGuard so I can set filters and check the statistics
Don't think for us, don't take decisions for us. leave us the choice wether we want to use it. For example, you could provide an "Expert Firmware" for users like us where we have more options. Put some disclaimers in it that it isn't for the novice users and you're done
