Firmware Version: 1.7.4 Build 20231222

Currently have 250/25Mpbs fibre connection on FTTP NBN here in Australia . Last couple of months, every week or so speed would drop to 90/25Mpbs. This is tested via wifi and also laptop connected to Main Deco with ethernet cable in second port. At first used to reboot Deco network to restore speed. Then found out that simple unplug/replug ethernet from NBN NTD to main Deco fixes speed issue. Factory reset Decos and changed the Main Deco over and issue still exists, this time every couple of days. QoS hasnt been turned on.

 

Whats up with that?

When speed drops to 90/25, open Deco app and you should see "Abnormal WAN speed" message.

 

What you describe points at issue with Ethernet cable between Main Deco and NBN NTD. On Main Deco restart or cable unplug/replug gigabit speed is negotiated over that cable, but for whatever reason can't be sustained, so both sides renegotiate speed to 100Mbps.

 

Replace that cable with different one.

Yes I had seen that message before on App while speeds are down. Hadn't thought of that cable as it was brand new not long ago. 

Will try that replacing and see how it goes
