Cannot login with PC to configure AX-55 since Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20240129 rel.57815(4341)
Since Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20240129 rel.57815(4341) when I try to login to the router it accepts my TP Link password (Operation successful) then immediately returns me to the login screen. Local password also does the same thing but no "operation successful" message.
The only thing that works is connecting directly the router with my PC with an ethernet cable and bypassing the internet connection.
Also the Tether app is showing my AP mode AX-55 as having no active client connections to it. None of the stats are present on the screen, but the router works just fine. Everything is working just as if the router was in perfect order.

@JP57 Any issues since the Beta install? I'm also facing the constant disconnect and login issues....

@SB82 The beta works just fine. Hopefully, they will soon release the official version.
May I remind you that in my case the problem seemed to be happening when I was operating in "AP" mode

@JP57 yeah, one of mine is also in AP mode, with constant disconnect issues.

@SB82 I've installed the beta version and it appeared to be ok, but that was for a few minutes. It started acting up again and kicked me out or wouldn't allow me to log back in. Although I am connecting to that network via VPN since I can't physically be there right now, I don't think that would or should have an effect on it.
I'm rebooting the modem (XB7) and the AX55, hoping that may knock some sense into it...

@JP57 Not sure if it's helping yet. It's still running the Beta, but I'm still running into connectivity issues, although I don't think that it's caused by the AX55.
Question: I have a Shaw (Arris) XB7 modem with the AX55 connected into one of its ports (Port 2 or 3). Then I have a 24 port switch connected into the other port on the XB7. I initially had the AX55 connected to the switch and was experiencing constant connectivity issues, so I connected the AX55 directly to the modem; at this time, I also ran a new CAT6 cable from the modem to the AX55 as the previous one was messed somehow. For some reason, there are still constant connectivity issues with the internet, regardless if the users are connected via WiFi or LAN. I can't be certain, but it appears that the issue may be the switch, but I'm not sure how or why that would be the case, or why it would be affecting the entire network, especially the XB7 WiFi (I know the XB7 isn't great for WiFi, but I had it turned on to test the connectivity issues we're having while the AX55 was off, and there were still issues; it's off now.)
I had Shaw come out and replace the modem already once, received the XB7, and I think the old one was an XB6 or something. Seemed to help for a day or two, then the issues started again. Shaw claims that the connection is strong and stable, so there shouldn't be any issues; I beg to differ.
I have no idea what could be causing the connectivity issues; the light on the XB7 stays white then entire time and doesn't show any connection drops in the logs, as far as I'm aware. Would you have any clue as to what would be going on with it?
BTW, I have/had the same setup in a separate location, same modem and wireless router with no issues, and the only difference was the switch.
Thanks in advance :)

How did you get the new firmware ? When I go to https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/download/archer-ax55/v1/#Firmware the latest firmware is
Archer AX55(CA)_V1_1.2.3 Build 20230603
|
---|
My device is a Canadian one purchased last week.
My web interface DO show me the new 1.3.1 firmware but I chose not to upgrade since this is not the firmware I can see on the official support page from tp-link.
Edit: Well My guess is TP-Link just removed their faulty FW from their page . Although I can still see this firmware as an upgrade option in my router's setting. As a matter of fact I did tried to upgrade to it right out of the box but I could not (something about cloud service error (do I need the router to login to my tp-link account for these upgrades ? )
Anyway I'm on the 1.2.3 Build 20230603 rel.46473(4341) that I've upgraded the old way by uploading the file to the router. Turned off auto-upgrade too and won't turn it on again.
Will wait for the next upgrade in hope that this mess get fixed.
