I have an ER605v2 (load balancing between two ISPs, both their in Modem-only mode) and a few (hard-wired) C80s behind it; what is the best way of making use of EasyMesh on the C80s?

Do I;

Turn off DHCP on the ER605v2 (but give it a static LAN address of 192.168.0.1) and turn it on DHCP on the first C80 (giving it 192.168.0.3, and a range to give out of 192.168.0.4 to .255), or
Keep DHCP on, on the ER605v2, and turn off DHCP on the C80, but still have it in Router and EasyMesh mode?

I've currently got DHCP on the ER605v2, with all the C80s in AP (only) mode (and DHCP disabled) but I'd like to go back to using their mesh function (which I had before bringing in the ER602v2 to cater for multi-WAN).

If you use the C80 in router mode you surely will introduce double NAT in your network.

I would try both scenarios where C80 is in "manual" AP mode - details (Case 2) and check which one will work for me.

Keep in mind that the connection in both cases will be ER605v2 LAN port => C80 LAN port.

It would have been much easier if C80 supported Easymesh in AP mode natively - lets hope this would be implemented soon.

@terziyski Thanks but I'm asking for a setup where I don't have to use them as non-EasyMesh "Manual" APs, as I already have them set up (and working) like that. I'm trying to find a way to put them in Easymesh mode without the "double NAT"...

Actually that was exactly what I have proposed.

In "manual" AP mode the device is still in router mode and Easymesh probably could be configured - that's what you have to test.

Also "manual" AP mode will ensure that there's no double NAT in your network.

@terziyski So, your description of Manual AP is just reverting to router mode and switching off DHCP (which I think is what I'd suggested in my initial message - my option 2)...? Obviously, if I'm not following correctly, please let me know!

Thing is, I don't want to send my whole network into a tailspin if it doesn't definitely work.

Yes, but in this case you're are using C80 LAN port to connect ER605 - just follow the guide.

If you are concerned about your current configuration you can make a backup of the two C80.

If that doesn't work you can easily restore C80s configuration and go back to your previous setup.

I'm not sure if this would work, but it's your decision whether to try it or not.

Like I posted, if Easymesh in AP mode is implemented this would be a straight forward operation.
