Model: Deco X50-5G   Deco X50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

Had these a week and seemed to be fine - the Deco X50-5g want to a firmware update out of the box and all was well. Configured the Deco X50's around the house.

Friday 15th March got notified another firmware update was available, so went ahead and installed it 1.1.3.

Ever since the last update all lights randomly flash red, go solid red and then all 5 devices loose connectivity and then they eventually come back and this has how it's been Saturday \ Sunday. today Monday not been around so much so haven't seen any red lights. I can't seem to find any logging in the app so don't know for sure.

Maybe its a load issue with the house full etc sends the units into a spin. There are only 4 of us so hopefully not! All our devices get disconnected and then reconnected.

I've started to turn functionality off, Fast Roaming and Beamforming (as seen\read somewhere this can help) but why have I paid for all this functionality if it not use able - may as will ditch these and go back to my trusty old powerlines!

Can someone from tp-link please help me in some way.

Thanks

I have just sent the Deco X50-5G logs via the app support link referring to the instability and also referencing this forum post along with my username.

I have been given an email support request ref; TKID240334821

Yes, I'm hoping that this will be resolved quickly as having these drop outs is causing no end of frustration.

What time zone are they in, the reply emails don't seem to align with where I am.

  @David-TP

Still had no contact back from these Snr engineers.

Are you able to view my ticket to see if it's being worked at all?

  @Hast_do_angst

Not having too much success with tech support either - sent in loads of logs and got back "seems like your X50-5G is rebooting move to another electrical socket to confirm supply."

I really don't think the electrical supply is the issue as my previous 4g router was plugged in the same socket for over 5 years. Going thorough some tedious motions tbh.

Another annoyance is the 8 hr time differnce between me and support.

I got advised, by TP-Link support, to return my X50-5G for exchange via Amazon - where I originally bought it from.

Received the exchange X50-5G 2 days ago, set it all up along with the 4 X50 Decos and whilst its on the firmware it shipped with, version 1.0.0 it has been faultless - superb experience, just wish the first X50-5G was as so.

I'm waiting on the answer from TP-Link support if to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.3 or wait for the next firmware release.
