hi even my vx1800v has got easy mesh option my TL-WPA7617 can not mesh with it. any reason why?

Hi, Archer VX1800v only support EasyMesh, it doesn't support OneMesh. You could also find the note on the device overview or specification page:

Archer VX1800v | AX1800 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router

However TL-WPA7617 only supports OneMesh at this moment, that is why it cannot form a mesh network with VX1800v.

According to EasyMesh compatibility list: TP-Link EasyMesh Devices, TL-WPA7617 is listed as Planned, when it supports EasyMesh, you will be able to establish a mesh network using them.

  @darthcypher but any how even it shows in easymesh planned devices page, once you check the specs of the device it says it is compatible which is confusing for consumer it must be the same as planned. is there any predicton on when it will be available?

Hi, I checked TP-Link global site before and only OneMesh is listed on the spec of TL-WPA7617, while I just checked TR website and EasyMesh is listed as well but no planned lablel as the EasyMesh compatibility list, I have reported the issue to related team and update it on TR website as soon as possible.

 

In addition, we don't have advanced notice about when the EasyMesh will be supported by TL-WPA7617, please pay attention to any new firmware update for this model.

I'm considering a purchase vx1800v . What is the wifi strength at a distance of 10m from two walls on the same floor?

It could be due to compatibility issues between the devices. Ensure  squishmallow halloween both are running the latest firmware and check if they support the same mesh standard.
