Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 220527 Rel.57604n (6971/6965)

I noticed that the extender doesn't have support for easymesh as well as not running at 1 gigabit on the lan cable when though I plugged it in place of another device that ran fine at that speed on the same port and cable.

Naturally, I went to see if there are any firmware updates but no matter which one I try, I can't get it to accept the firmware. I even tried older ones and the v4.8.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have a screenshot of your current firmware version?

I haven't seen a version like -1.0.4 Build 220527 Rel.57604n (6971/6965) in the database so I think that might be why you couldn't update the firmware.

How long have you had the RE450_V4.8?

How did you test the Ethernet port on RE450 is running at 1 gigabit?

Did you check the Ethernet Link speed on the laptop when it is wired to RE450, such as?

How to check the associated/link speed on a wired client

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP Thank you for your informative reply,

Regarding the 1Gb speed, I tried with another cable and it did negotiate to that speed. It seems that the RE450 is more sensitive to cable quality thank other devices.

As for the firmware issue, here is a screenshot of the firmware section in the web UI not that this is the version out the box, I have done no modification to it:

Hi,

You might want to mention the region code of your RE450 V4 and whether you've got it supplied by your Internet provider or bought it at retail.

The region code can be found on the backside of the RE450 on a small barcode sticker that also has the device's serial number on it. (look for something like "EU/4.0" or "Model:RE450(US) Ver:4.0")

Wanted to add that even though I did get it through my ISP, it was jjust the standard retail version with no branding or modifications.
