Nord VPN speed is capping out at 20 Mbps up and down when turned on the router. Does not happen if I use the same client, same connection with PC client.
Hi, welcome to the community.
The current VPN client speed is expected. The CPU of Deco cannot process VPN encryption as quickly as a computer or mobile device functioning as a VPN client. Establishing an encrypted tunnel between Deco and the VPN provider adds overhead to the processor/resources, resulting in a loss in speed and decreased WAN to Internet throughput.
It is already planned to support Wireguard VPN protocol to improve the VPN performance and Deco X50/X55_V1_1.5.0 has added this feature already.

How much of a speed boost is achieved with the WireGuard protocol upgrade? Also is there a DECO UNIT with better processing power to use as main unit?
