Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20231227

Hi All

I know this may have been discussed before but looking for some latest feedback.

I have 3 x Deco M4 units

Unit 1 - Deco M4 (V2) - FW 1.6.1 Build 20231227 Rel. 80438 - Main Deco

Unit 2 - Deco M4 (V3) - FW 1.6.1 Build 20231228 Rel. 53314 - Secondary Deco

Unit 3 - Deco M4 (V3) - FW 1.6.1 Build 20231228 Rel. 53314 - Secondary Deco

I had the V2 unit for about a year and it has been running fine.

I then purchased the 2 x V3 units to help with some dead spots around the house.

I have configured them and I noticed both connect to the main Deco unit (V2)

Ideally I would like the first secondary unit (Unit 2) to connect to the main Deco (Unit 1) then the third secondary unit (Unit 3)  to connect to the second unit (Unit 2).

In a daisy chain way if you know what I mean.

With them both connecting to the main unit it doesn't really give me the mesh network I anticipated.

I believe in order to do this I need to change the connection preference but from the research I have done this is not available yet on these M4 units.

I found a beta version of firmware that includes this feature but it has been quite unstable and problematic for those that have tested it.

My question is when will the next firmware update be released? The last one was in December 2023.

How often are firmware updates released?

Will the Deco M4 units definitely get these new features? One would think so if these features are being tested in a beta release.

I would prefer to wait for the official firmware release that has been tested thoroughly.

Thank you!
