Tapo C425 - Why is this with RTSP ?!?
Hello
Even after reading some threads in this forum i can not help to come to the conclusion that you must take actions and react to clients on the issues raised for this device.
I have bought a C425 camera for 2 main reasons, battery operated and able to create a camera account to then use it as best fits me.
After installing it it does not comply with what is expected and even written in the product manuals/FAQ.
So... i want to have direct access to RTSP on it and i can not because i have no way to set a camera account.
Now, i have a micro sd inserted, does this impact inm any way? I have other cameras from you and is does not change anything and i can setup as i need.
Can you please tell me how to setup the camera account or what is the default user/pass for it?

@Wayne-TP This is called "bait and switch" and I will be using that phrase in my online reviews. This camera will be returned to Amazon and I will be rethinking my usage of my 3 other TP Link cameras. If your company's strategy is to sell products based on features that you intend to remove in future firmware versions how can any of us trust any product you sell?

I have 6 Tapo Cameras and just purchased the 7th - TC82 wireless battery camera. The Create account is not available in advanced settings, which allows you to enable RTSP, ONVIF etc... This changes everything, I specifically bought this camera to use RTSP.
Why would TP Link disable this instead of simply giving the option with a warning about high battery consumption. Its not enabled by default and obviously those of us that use it are clearly aware of higher battery usage.
TP Link, update your firmware to give us this option!

I am joining this thread to raise my concerns as well.
I purchased the C425 earlier this year with the RSTP working for many months. I used it with ispy where at least I know when the camera is activated, I can see the RTSP stream and record it locally. I accepted that limitation as it was still useful in my use-case. But and then suddenly, the new FW pushed onto the camera removed that capability. No where in the release notes does it say it removes the RTSP function. Reaching out to tech support was no help, they just say "sorry".. but that's it. They should have provided options for customers to choose.. not impose a unilateral decision to remove the functionality.
This is just poor customer service. Its like buying a car, and removing the radio funciton after you take it in for a service.. saying the radio drains too much battery, therefore, you can't use it.
I am furious about this, that, not only TAPO was not upfront about the FW upgrade and what it entails, but secondly, they leave the customer holding the bag now with a camera that doesn't meet customers needs. This wasn't a cheap camera!
