Tapo C425 - Why is this with RTSP ?!?

Hello
Even after reading some threads in this forum i can not help to come to the conclusion that you must take actions and react to clients on the issues raised for this device.
I have bought a C425 camera for 2 main reasons, battery operated and able to create a camera account to then use it as best fits me.
After installing it it does not comply with what is expected and even written in the product manuals/FAQ.
So... i want to have direct access to RTSP on it and i can not because i have no way to set a camera account.
Now, i have a micro sd inserted, does this impact inm any way? I have other cameras from you and is does not change anything and i can setup as i need.
Can you please tell me how to setup the camera account or what is the default user/pass for it?

I am willing to buy 2 of those camera along with 2 Solar panels as soon as camera account/rtsp is brought back. So far I can see that Tapo is seriously supporting their products so I am still hopeful this will be resolved in a graceful manner.

Same issue here! I own 3 Tapo C120 cameras, working perfectly fine and properly integrated with my Synology NAS (via Surveillance Station). They're also activated whenever an alarm is triggered on my Jeedom box to send me snaphots.
I can't do any of those things with my C425 even though it's connected to a solar panel. That's an expensive useless investment...

Exact same issue, just purchased these cameras with the purpose of adding them to my Frigate server. Will be returning them and buying another brand. This was my first purcahse of TP-Link cameras but it will definitely be my last, returning them today.

Hello and sorry for Google translate English.
I am writing because i am also encountering the same situation and I imagine many people around the world who bought the c425 camera and cannot see the video on their TV or computer but only on their mobile phone.
These people also don't write in communities because they don't know or don't have the time. But they remain disappointed.
I have four c200 cameras and i see them on SMART TV with an app, I bought the c425 too and i imagined that I could do the same. When i found out that I can't i was very disappointed.
The C425 it's a nice camera and I bought it not for its battery life (I can charge it regularly) but for its magnetic base and charges from solar panel.
The Tapo app should allow you to choose RTSP or not?
So that you can see the Tapo cameras from other applications as well.
Tp-link. Think about your customers.

Hello,
Like everyone else on this page, I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the removal of RTSP and ONVIF functions from the C425 camera.
I purchased this model because it was listed as RTSP compatible.
Now I find myself with a device that is completely useless to me.
Until now, I was very satisfied with Tapo cameras and their capabilities.
The cameras are affordable and offer interesting features, particularly motion detection and RTSP.
I have two other C210.
I am therefore very surprised by this approach.
In short, either you pay for the "Tapo Care" solution, or the camera is useless...

I'm late to this but I was really happy with a C425. I found a three-pack of TC85's and as I was setting them up, I couldn't find the camera account settings. Then I realized that I couldn't get to the stream on the 425 either. Found this thread via googling, as TP-Link has not really announced that they removed it. Probably going to return this 3-pack and figure something else out, but I'm stuck with the 425 — and really kind of irritated that they sent a rep to this thread to deny that it ever had RTSP capability. Has anyone figured out how to roll back firmware or anything?

I am in the same boat. This is really bad. I had plans to buy more... only wanted to use a bit to be sure I am sold... I am ...unsold!
I am doing another cam as replacement... And unfortunately doesn't look like a TP-Link. This is very disappointing. Even a small C121 has a camera account and I can bring into anywhere I choose!
How can we make these guys see the error of their ways?
