Model: Archer TX20U Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello.

Bought a Archer TX20U Plus and connected to my Dell OptiPlex 5070, running Windows 11 Pro x64,  version 23H2, build 22631.3593. It opened the folder to install the driver, and so I did.

It installed the driver but nothing happened. In the device manager it is recognized as "802.11ac WLAN Adapter", with an orange exclamation sign. Tried to update de driver by locating the driver on the tp-link folder, but it says windows found a problem trying to update the driver. Also tried all usb ports on the computer, and downloaded latest driver from tp-link site. Rebooted several times...

Thank you for any assistance.

  @woozle thank for your reply.

The problem has been solved. After digging a little bit, I found that I had a windows update pending. When I was able to finish the update it immediatly detected the adapter properly and installed the driver without any issue.

  @AlexMota

Hi,

Does your Dell computer already have another Wi-Fi adapter built in and you are trying to upgrade to the faster TX20U Plus? (you would know if that "802.11ac WLAN Adapter" entry in the Device Manager was already there before you got the TX20U Plus)
"802.11ac WLAN Adapter" doesn't seem the right name for a TX20U Plus.

From your description ("It opened the folder to install the driver ...") it sounds like your new TX20U Plus is one of those two-in-one devices. After being plugged in it will first act as a "CD-ROM" or "Storage" drive that contains the driver software. In order to have it act as a Wi-Fi adapter you usually need to eject that CD-ROM/Storage drive. (by clicking the respective icon in the taskbar)
