Model: Deco
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.9 build 20231225

I thought moving from r8000 to deco would be an upgrade but I am disappointed with deco xe75 pro performance (pack 3).

issue1: wifi drops outs never ever happened on r8000 but deco drop-outs are frequent. I have tried disabling roaming and beam forming etc. I have trying running r8000 in parallel to rule out my devices but it's deco issue

issue2: speed is major concern. I have 250/25 connection.  never had issues with VoIP calls on r8000 but deco does some magic and throttles the speed over vpn :(. nothing to do with my ISP as I have tried to use r8000 in parallel with deco.

now, what can I do?

  @sonnybill

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Is R8000 Nighthawk x6 R8000 - AC3200?

For the unstable issue, I hope you can install the firmware here to see whether it helped:

Optimize The Overall App Experience on Deco XE5300/XE75/XE75 Pro

As for the VPN speed issue, do you mean the VPN client speed from Deco?

May I know how much speed you could receive from Deco XE75 Pro?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP yep AC3200, about 10 year old router still works without dropoffs and no issues with vpn or calls.

I am on firmware version 1.2.9 build 20231225 rel. 57498. do you want me to downgrade?

VPN speed is not an issue. I get 100/25 speed on wifi. old router no dropoffs and voice calls work without an issue. When I use app one phone to call, no issues. Deco seems to throttle vpn traffic. I do not know the port of vpn traffic though.
