Good Morning,

Apologies for the detail - better too much than not enough.

Hoping someone can help with our network setup issues, as I am having trouble getting consistent connections across the property.

My current home physical setup is as follows.  We have effectively a rectangle house shape, single story, with NBN Fibre to the Property.

Our main router is approx halfway front-to-back down the house, against an internal wall.  Unfortunately not moveable due to the fixed wall position of the NBN connection.

Teen1 sits at the front of the house in his room, wanting to stream netflix while playing on his PS.

Teen2 sits at the back of the house wanting to use his computer for gaming, or his other computer for study (streaming Teams videos etc and software downloads also).

Meanwhile I sit out the back in a caravan set up for WFH.  Caravan is in line of sight to the window of Teen2's room containing the unit.

I installed the passthrough powerline kit as follows (x 4 units):

1. Main unit plugged directly into the wall with the router plugged into it. Mid way through the house.

2. Second unit plugged directly into the wall at the front of the house with Teen1 using Ethernet to connect directly to PS and TV.

3. Additional unit plugged directly to the wall at the back room for Teen2 using Ethernet to connect to both computers.

4. Final Additional unit plugged directly to the wall in the caravan for me to connect via ethernet to my laptop.

My problem is that my unit seems to no longer provide me with a consistent wired connection, and is having micro-drops when connected, causing my VPN connection to the office to drop regularly throughout the day (even with no on else home).  I end up having to connect via my old mesh D-link wifi system that I also have running through the property, with a lower quality connection and stalling video at times.

Internet speed is 100/20 on average.

In addition my second laptop doesnt even seem to recognise the ethernet cable any more.

I have purchased new cables for sturdier clips, and the lights on the device light up when plugged in and switched on.

I understood the TP Link devices would basically convert the electrical cables in the house to carry internet and come out through these devices.  Teen2 at the back of the house has no issue.

Obviously I have tried rebooting all units, power off etc etc, but there is no difference.  Hoping someone can tell me how to reset these devices to work again consistently..

Thanks :-)

  @AliGee

Hi,

Please check if any newly added appliances may affect the powerline environment.

When the issue happens, please also check if the powerline light is on or off.

What should I do if connection is not stable when the device is connected to TP-Link Powerline Adapter?

  @AliGee Hello.

I am having the exactly same problem with my powerline AV1300. It keeps having micro-drops every few minutes. I have tried everything I've seem on the internet.

I have a feeling it was the last firmware update, I am using the 3.0.2 Build 20230505 Rel.60353 for reference. Can you say what firmwire you have on your side?

I wish I could undestand what is going on here. But I am cluless.
