Will Deco X50-PoE ever support Matter?
I'm planning out Smart Home and I was planning to have Kasa switches with Tapo Sockets both with Matter support.
My prefference would be to connect everything to Deco X50 - PoE, but currently it doesn't support Matter. Would it ever be possible you think?

Have you purchased Deco X50-POE already?
If not, I think maybe you could have a look at Deco X50/X55_V1 which already support Matter on its latest firmware.
It is also planned to support Matter on other models but the ETA of a specific model is not clear yet.

@David-TP I actually did purchase 3 x TP link devices to test:
- X50 Outdoor (which is PoE)
- X50 (that is not PoE). I'm not a big fan of running cabless, but don't seem to have much choice Matter and PoE are not combined in one device
- Kasa KS225 dimming switch
If you have any ideas / suggestions for tests please let me know.

May I know the current firmware of your Deco X50(not POE)?
Please also help me check the hardware version of the Deco X50.
How to find the firmware version of Deco
I think you could try to set Deco X50 as the main Deco and check under Deco APP>Smart Home>Add smart devices, there should be an option to add Matter supported devices.
