Model: Deco X50 - PoE
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20231225 Rel 54181

Hi,

I got a 3 pack of the X-50 PoE and one of the outdoor X-50 PoE. I've got my main decco connected to the router ZTE 5G CPE MC801A and then to a switch YuanLey 11 Port Gigabit PoE Switch. The switch then connects to the other three deccos.

When I try to copy a file from my laptop to an external drive on Nvidia shield (Both connected to kitchen decco) the transfer won't complete. It goes to 0 transfer rate and reamins there for a couple of mins.

This transfer worked fine on my old decco mesh s4/m4 which were connected wirelessly without a switch.

The problem doesn't occur if I connect my laptop to a decco further away, such as the office and leave the shield on the kitchen decco, but obviously the file transfer is slower and I've to manually select the decco.

I thought maybe i'd crimped ethernet incorrectly so bought all new ready made cable, initally thought the issue was solved as a file transfer worked yesterday but error again today.

I factory reset the kitchen decco, this did not fix the problem after.

It's frustrating as i've invested a lot and drilled holes in my ceiling for this "imrpoved network" and all it's done is made things worse.

I have checked the deco log but can't see anything obvious, I'm no network expert though.

It worked there with the shield on the 5ghz network and the laptop on the 2.4ghz network of the same kitchen decoo. I then put both on the 5Ghz netowrk and I'm back to error 0x8007003B: An unexepcted Network Error has occured.

I've a chunk of the log below. Don't worry about the UDP packet stuff that's from a Lenovo smart alarm clock with built in alexa, that seems to be normal for it (IP 192.168.68.72).

Hopefully enough info. Tomorrow I'll try switching places with Office and kitchen deco, currently the shiled can't connect reliably to another deco to try both connected to the same deco, but not the kitchen one.

  @chrisofthewhite

Hi, welcome to the community.

Thank you very much for the feedback.

Can I have some screenshots of the network map and Mesh Backhaul types on the Deco, such as:

Are you able to constantly reproduce this issue in a short time?

In the meantime, I'd like to follow up on your case via email and consult the senior engineer for further assistance.

Please check whether you can receive my email later.

Thanks again and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi thanks for the reply. Yeah the problem repeats 100% of the time I try it when both connected to the kitchen deco on WiFi network.

Another strange thing this morning which may or may not be related is that overnight everything disconnected from the office deco and connected to other ones. I rebooted it but still nothing on the office one and my wife turned on her laptop in the office and it connected to the kitchen one.

Today I plan to move the shield into the office and connect laptop and shield to 5ghz office deco wi-fi, see if it happens. That way I'll know if it's the kitchen deco issue or more general network. If it works on office deco I'll swap it with kitchen and see what happens.
