Have been trying to set up OpenVPN for days now. Followed all instructions meticulously, buty when trying to connect client using config file it fails and times out.

I have a Huawei 4G modem with a Bouyges data SIM. 3 XE75 Pros arranged as mesh. I have no problems getting onto the internet. That all works fine. But just unable to get OpenVPN sorking.

Is there an issue with running OpenVPN over 4g? Is there some soprt of configuration in the modem and/or XE75s that I should do that is not in the instructions? Please help.

Hi, Welcome to the community.

Many SIM carriers use CG-NAT service which means the 4G Huawei LTE gateway wasn't assigned a public IP address.

In this way, the external connection to the local OpenVPN server on the Deco XE75 Pro might be blocked.

For more details, it is suggested to refer to https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/1766

Thank you very much and best regards.
