Hello Community members,

I need some help with the following.

My ISP router has Static public IP set on the WAN port. The ISP router LAN Port has IP 192.168.1.1.

Archer AX23 WAN has IP 192.168.1.2 and LAN IP is 192.168.2.1. DHCP Server is 192.168.2.60 to 90. Port triggering for 1194 port done on both ISP and AX23 routers. Internet access is fine on the home network.

I have enabled OpenVPN on AX23 with all default settings. Generated & exported certificate for home network  and internet access.

Installed ovpn file on a client machine on OpenVPN Client software but unable to connect.

What more should I do? Any article to the right direction or advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & best regards,

Gaurab Dey

 Hi @Sunshine,

Thank you for your reply.

I have successfully created the required VPM tunnel.

My ISP provided router don't have VPN server feature hence I had to purchase AX23.

I opened 1194 port on the ISP router and modified the ovpn file where I replaced the AX23 WAN IP with the ISP provided Public IP and that made the connection successful.

I am writing this so that anyone with similar problem can get the problem resolved.

Thanks again!!

Best regards,

Gaurab

Hi,

Did you open port 1194 on the ISP router for the AX23?

In your topology, AX23 is not getting a public IP address, therefore the VPN connection would fail.

For your case, a simple way is to set up the VPN server on the ISP router directly.
