Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Hi all,

I just bought a new USB wireless adapter, TP-Link Archer TX20UH and it does not detect 5 GHz Wifi.

I have a 5G wireless router that broadcasts both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wifi channels. I have several devices (Android phone, iPhone and iPad) that successfully detect and connect to the 5GHz Wifi, but this adapter can see only 2.4 GHz Wifi.

I checked the Advanced section of the adapter in Device Manager and 5GHz wife is set to IEEE 802.11a/n/ac/ax but still: the adapter does not detect the 5GHz Wifi, it just doesn't see it.

I am using the latest drivers I downloaded from TP Link website.

What can I do, so the adapter will detect 5 GHz channel of the Wifi?

Hi David, Thank you very much for your help. The suggested solution in the other thred (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/681838) was the answer to my problem. I changed the 5G channel from Auto to 36 and it worked perfect. I can now see 5GHz wifi and can connect without any problems. Thank you!
