Deco X80 and Wireguard
Hi all,
I'm about to buy Deco X80 to use as main deco of my current set of two X20.
I want to be sure that the X80 is having Wireguard support in order to incorporate Warp+ as VPN.
Did someone has used it and can confirm?
Thanks! 😀

Hi, welcome to the community.
Deco X80 doesn't support Wireguard VPN protocol yet. So Deco X50/X55_V1 with firmware 1.5.x is the only support version.
Best regards.

@David-TP thank you, but I'm a little bit confused, since in the X50 specs on the TP Link site it doesn't say anything about this feature. And now I'm realizing, none of deco haves it. Furthermore, X50 was released on 2022, so I'm skeptical on invest on a two years old hardware😅
However, I've been surfing this forum and some users complains about the X50 V1 performance with the new firmware, so sounds like a beta or WIP feature, maybe?
Could you please recommend any other TP-link solution that supports Wireguard or NordVPN or Surfshark?
Thanks and best regards

Hi, I might not explain it clearly. Deco X80 supports L2TP/PPTP/OpenVPN server/client. It does work with NordVPN/Surfshark as well.
But its current firmware hasn't added WireguardVPN protocol. Deco X50/X55 only starts supporting WireguardVPN since the firmware 1.5.0.
It is also planned to support wireguardVPN protocol on other models but there is no ETA for this feature yet.
While Deco X50 was launched a few years back, in my experience, it appears to be a top priority when it comes to incorporating new software features.
Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP, since the topic is related to Wireguard, I assume that my comments where related to this vpn type, despite the fact that the units have other VPN types support. Sorry for any confusion.
Regarding updates, well, that's the same answer that I get more than a year ago, that my current Deco X20 was planned to support wireguard too and here I am, trying to get another ones that actually supports its. So I guess that end users cannot trust on planned or "to be released" by tp-link.
Thanks for your support and have a great day 😊
