I have 3 Deco E4s and 2 Deco M5s for my house and wanted to connected them via ethernet backhaul. Previously I had a switch through which I had connected my routers and this worked fine except they acted like access points. I recently switched to Decos so that I can use a mesh network. However, now the decos seem to be very unstable and keep will randomly disconnect from the main deco even though everything is connected via etherenet through the switch.

My current switch is TL-SG108S. It's on this list https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/soho-switch/ of switches which I got from General questions about Ethernet Backhaul. I have used a cable tester to check my cables and they are fine. What should I do? I am in India and not all the switches listed on that page are available here. Which switch should I get if I need a new one?

My setup is case 2 in this link https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/271538?page=1

  @Kj1801

Hi, welcome to the community.

I think there is no need to change the switch. TL-SG108S should work well with the Ethernet Backhaul.

Have you tried to set the Deco into Access Point mode as well:

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Since there are 4 satellite Deco units, are all of them randomly dropped out? or just some of them?

Would they turn flashing red?

Thank you very much and best regards.
