Beta Software Connect TP-Link Archer BE550 to Germany's DS-Lite (Dual Stack Lite) Internet via WAN
Hey, welcome to all users from Germany!
In this article, we’d like to introduce a popular internet technology in Germany known as DS-Lite (Dual-Stack Lite). DS-Lite enables users to access both IPv4 and IPv6 content, making it a common solution as networks transition to IPv6. Many German ISPs implement this technology to provide internet access while meeting the growing demand for IPv6 connectivity.
However, not all manufacturers support DS-Lite in their networking devices. When selecting a device to work with DS-Lite, it's important to check the specifications and documentation of the router or gateway to ensure compatibility with DS-Lite.
We are excited here to offer beta firmware for the Archer BE550 V1 to our German users. This gives you the opportunity to test the firmware before its official release, allowing you to connect your BE550 to the DS-Lite internet. It also provides us at TP-Link the chance to thoroughly test the firmware in real-world network environments and scenarios prior to the official launch. We welcome all feedback!
If you’re interested in testing beta firmware for other models, please feel free to leave a comment, and we will check with our engineering team to see if we can provide a beta version for you to test.

Firmware Download:
Before the Upgrade
(1) For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router's Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.
(3) You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.

You can also download the firmware from the link below directly and update manually:

Configuration Notice:
After upgrading and installing the beta firmware on your Archer BE550 V1, please follow the steps below to configure it to connect to the internet.
Step 1. login to its web management page and navigate to Advanced > Network > Internet, select DS-Lite as the Internet Connection Type and leave the AFTR Name as Auto, then save the settings.
Step 2. Go to the IPTV/VLAN page, enable IPTV/VLAN, and configure the Internet VLAN ID as per your ISP's requirements. Then save the settings. If you're having trouble, try using VLAN ID 7.

Step 3. Go to IPv6, enable the IPv6 connection, and select the appropriate Internet Connection Type based on your ISP. Save the settings, then check if you can successfully obtain an IPv6 address. If so, the connection should be established.
*If your provider offers a PPPoE username and password, please select PPPoE. Otherwise, try Dynamic IP.

Please follow the above sequence to finish the configuration, then check if the internet will work.
Additional Information
As always, we value your feedback. If somehow you encounter any issues while configuring your connection to DS-Lite, please comment below with the following information. Your input helps us continue improving and providing the best products and support.

Thanks, your tip worked, but unfortunately I can't get it to work. When I use PPPoE internet connection type and enter my data, I get a connection to Netcom (but I can't use it because DS-Lite is missing). When I use DS-Lite internet connection type and enter my data for IPv6, I get no connection.

I naturally tested various settings for IPTV/LAN and IPv6. Nothing worked.
Here are my settings that work with the 7590 and the Netcom-BW on one ONT

Does this mean the BE550 shows an active internet connection, but none of the client devices connected to it can access the internet?
Please go to Advanced > System > Diagnostics, ping 8.8.8.8 and www.google.com, and show us the ping results.
BTW, do you use PPPoE or DS-Lite as the WAN/Internet connection on the Fritz!Box 7590?
If it's DS-Lite, please reconfigure the BE550 to use DS-Lite as the WAN/Internet connection, then follow the steps I mentioned in my original post in this thread. If there is still no connection, please export the configuration file (Advanced > System > Backup & Restore > Back Up) from the BE550 and email it to us for further review.

Hello Toghter,
Thank you so much for your help and effort.
Please excuse me, I didn't express myself clearly.
My current setup is as shown in the screenshot you provided (works very well):
ONT - Fritzbox - BE550 - RE900XD - RE900XC
This works very well.
However, I would like to run my network without the Fritzbox in the future:
ONT - BE550 - RE900XD - RE900XC
The BE550 is intended to replace the Fritzbox. Unfortunately, this doesn't work with the beta firmware (DS-Lite, etc.; I get a connection and an IP address is assigned, but I can't use it).
I will try your Tipp

I’m facing the same issue with my BE550 and DS-Lite fiber internet on 1&1. I can’t find a way to downgrade my Firmware to install the beta firmware. Additionally, the 2.x firmware doesn’t seem to support DS-Lite.
That's my setup right now:
Firmware Version:
1.2.1 Build 20250813 rel.27119(4555)
Hardware Version:
Archer BE550 v1.0
