Model: Archer AX53
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20240306 rel.66339(4555)

Hello, I just bought a new TP-Link Archer AX53 router. I replaced an old TP-Link Archer C6 router that worked well, but I wanted to upgrade to better WiFi and WPA3 support. Today I connected the AX53 to my home network, followed the quick setup steps, and the internet started working. Right after I finished the setup, I mentioned that all "http://" web pages stopped working. I thought it was a security protection on the router side, but after that I found that I couldn't load some "https://" pages. For example: https://www.gigabyte.com. I can't even ping this site.

I also noticed that my computer periodically loses connection to WiFi and it recovers after a few seconds.

I can confirm that I didn't have such problems with my old Archer C6 router, it worked for me for many years and always worked stably.

Is there a solution to this problem? If not, I will be forced to return the router back to the store, since it does not work stably.

Hi, thanks for your update.

So you do not have a wired device, like TV or PC, right?

If you still want to make Archer AX53 work in your house, we need to confirm more information(make sure to use this router in your house to replace C6, not install in another place):

1. When the internet drops, how about the LEDs on the router? Any changes?

2. Please change channel and channel width for a try following this guide.

3. Who is your ISP? What is your exact network topology? Please share the model of your modem.

4. Please log into the web UI of the router, go to Advanced>> System Tools>>System Log, save log and share us.

Thanks for your cooperation~

Since I still haven't received an answer, I'll try to make a few assumptions. Since the firmware date is March 2024, maybe the SSL certificates included in the firmware have expired? Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

Some updates from weekend tests. I have connected router to another ISP provider and everything is working good - able to load "http://" websites and gigabyte (dot) com website loads without problem. So, it seams that problem is between router and my specific ISP provider communication. Is there a way somehow to debug what is wrong and who is blocking websites? Because everything is working with my old router...

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

May I confirm whether the unstable issue and failing to load some "https://" issue only happened on your computer? Did you check your other clients?

If that only happens on your PC, it it suggested to change DNS on it directly.

If the issues happened on all your clients, please check whether the issue happens only on wireless connection and you may follow the troubleshooting steps from this guide.

@Marvin_S Problem appears on all client in my local network. I have configured custom DNS servers on router side, I configured Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). Unfortunately I did not check if same problem appears on wired connection. As I understood, there are some problems between my ISP and router. Currently I installes AX53 router in other place, where everything is working well.
