Deco X60 7-Deco and Wired-Daisy chain - Possible (See Picture) - Moving to X55 (6x for now)
Hello All,
My current configuration mix and match with routher-controller-switch sending wired CAT6 to EAP615 few areas and couple of areas its daisy chained to EAP245- I want to move to DECO for my home with 6500 Sqft (2 floors)
EAP615 - 3Nos
EAP245 - 3Nos
ER605 Router 1 No
8 Port POE Switch 1 No
Omada Controller 1 No
Queries: Need Inputs and Help.
1) Daisy-Chain: I want to move to Deco X60. I called TP-Link Tech on "1800-number" and shared below shown configuration (verbally) and i was told this will work. Else where in the community I read that daisy chain does not work between Deco's unless a switch is inserted between each daisy chain (example: D1-X60 -> CAT6 -> D2-X60 "DOES not work", However D1-X60-Switch-D2-X60 "will work"). Hence asking away in this community. Please Help!.
2) 7-8 Decos - possible?

You can add M5s to Deco mesh that runs on X55s. Check prices for X10s, if they are available in your region and for similar to M5 price, X10s are better addition. They support WiFi6, just like X55s. M5s are WiFi5.

Can I do this daisy chain? X55 - Switch - X10 /X20 - X55 :: Will there be a speed drop due to this?
FYI: I need X55 in MBR
Alternatively I can direct wire (there is a direct wiring from POE-Switch to P-Room and new wire goes from P-Room to MBR) to MBR and make P-Room Wifi daisy chain.
couple of wirings are messed up. I had chance to direct wire to all rooms, but I told them to Loop wire. anyways ...

If this is wired daisy chain, with Ethernet cables, you can do that and there will be no loss of speed.

Alex I have clarification query.
Main Deco is powered on and Internet is working fine. I m getting full speed (450Mbps).
for the secton deco x55, i wired it and it is still trying to connect to the main deco.
is it important that all deco are added through wifi and then moved for wired ?

I would suggest adding Satellite Deco wirelessly first. Bring Satellite Deco to where Main Deco is, add Satellite to Deco mesh if it does not join automatically. Give Satellite Deco name you want.
Then, when everything is set and you verified Satellite Deco is online in Deco app and healthy, take that Deco to its permanent location and wire it there. If Satellite Deco can't establish Ethernet backhaul, you'll be sure that the problem is with Ethernet wiring and/or switch, not with Satellite Deco itself.

Yes. the New Decos are connected through wifi each other. (Daisy chain is also working).
I removed the ETH wire from TP-Link EAP615 (or whatever which was working) to DECO and X55 is still connecting to the other (main or daisy chain Decos).
I think wiring is just fine. The switch could be a problem. its a POE output switch. Is this an issue ?
anyways ... Understood. Maybe I will simply add a simple switch than POE switch. This one has few LAN outputs and few WAN sections ... whatever man. I need to kick this so-called expert who screwed it up.
The Internet is working at some speed (30-70 mbps as they are 30-50feet spaced out) which is okay for now.
3 more to add. Good night, and thank you for your quick response. Appreciate it.

Everything is integrated and operating flawlessly.
The app indicates that D2 is directly hoocked to Main, even though I have daisy (wired) chained from Main "X550" ETH "D1" ETH D2. It does not matter; I get full speed.
Family room to MBR its Wifi Daisy Chain.
