Hello!

I have 2 EX141s serving as Access Points in my home, both connected to an ASKEY RTF8115VW main router from my ISP.

This model, to be exact:

https://www.tp-link.com/service-provider/wifi-router/ex141/

The thing is, although it is properly functioning as an Access Point, succesfully expanding the Wifi range, its ethernet speeds are being artificially limited to 100mbps, regardless if the network goes in via LAN or WAN. At some point, before installing the second one, switching back from "AP Mode" to "Router Mode" (also deactivating the DHCP, giving it a static IP) would solve the issue and bring back the gigabit speeds.

But as soon as I installed the second EX141 on the other end of my home, both hardwares started distributing speeds capped to 100mbps.

The cabling is CAT6 and CAT5-e and are impeccable. Bypassing the EX141s and connecting the rj45 straight to the PC port will deliver gigabit speeds. As soon as I put the router back into the loop, the speed gets capped exactly to 100mbps.

What's going on? How could installing a second, same-model, router could've brought back the problem?

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi. No solution here, I am afraid, but I have "upgraded" all my devices, and I am getting the same problem. If I take out the new EX141 router, and put back the old D-Link DIR825, I get more than double the performance.

If the DLink wasn't so old, I would just put it back as a permanent solution, but I bought 4 EX141's to use as a mesh.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated
