Archer VX1800v 2.4+5Ghz wifi keeps kicking things offline, and now ethernt is also unstable
I thought he 2.4 Ghz wifi issue had been fixed by a firmware update, but now the 5Ghz WIFI is also suffering the same issues.
Turning the wifi on and off again has helped as a temporary fix, but now not even that is working and now the Ethernet ports are also not allowing anything to connect, i cant even access the config page for the router.
This is a new router and so far the wifi has proven to be completely unstable on both the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz frequencies, and now the Ethernet side of things is also proving problematic
How do you get this thing to work?, i was previously using a TP link VR2800 and that had no issues at all
(Im also having issues trying to post to this site - as it keeps throwing up a captcha error - apologies if this appears multiple times as the whole experience is extremely frustrating )

So whats the fix???
The whole thing seemed to die after a re-boot devices report wifi connected but no internet, router said internet was connected and ethernet worked.
Turned off the wifi and then turned it back on again, devices still refused to connect.
Re-booted router and couldn't connect via ethernet
turn router off for a few minutes and still couldn't connect
Why is the XV1800v so unstable, but my previous VR2800 never missed a beat?

Disconected the new VX1800v and plugged the old router back in - no issues so far.
The intention was to upgrade/update the VR2800 with a newer model that is not marked as end of life and have something future-proof with built in Voip
End result is something that is not fit for purpose and impressions of the VX1800v will foul the swear filter on this forum which in turn is preventing me from using the words that i would like to and are appropriate for the situation.
If there is no fix available then the thing will be sent back with a scathing review left on the retailers and any other review site i can find

Hi,
If the internet light on the router is still on when the drop issue happens, please change the DNS settings to google DNS.
If it still cannot help, please do MAC clone for this router.
Since the VR2800 can get a stable connection, you can clone its MAC address.

No option available to clone Mac address, i need a working stable device, this is proving to be unfit for purpose

Its just stopped working again, first all devices connected to the 2.4 wifi go offline, then the 5Ghz stops responding .
a router reboot then results in the whole thing locking up, it comes back up again, with all lights on green, locks up all lights except power flash/go off then it appears to come back but nothing can connect
physical re-boot ( pull the plug) then it comes back works for a short while before the whole process repeats itself
If this is not fixed by Friday its going back for a full refund. Not only is this incredibly frustrating, its also wasting a huge amount of my time

Same issue reported by other users on reddit 9 months ago and no sign of any remedy here :

Hey all, I've been dealing with my AX1800 constantly dropping internet to my Galaxy S20FE and my wife's iPhone 12 (honestly can't recall which iPhone she has, but maybe 4 years old).
My TV and PS4 are ethernet hardwired to the router, not ever losing internet (youtube tv on TV has never cut out); wifi connected phones lose connection at least once or twice per night, forcing me to "turn off wifi" on phone....wait a minute or two...then reconnect.
This behavior persists even after the router is powered off for a few minutes and restarted.
Any options to remedy? I'm ready to replace, but won't be getting a new tp-link if I do (will go back to reliable old Linksys that have never failed me).""
