Hello!
I am not very well versed in this topic, so I am asking for your help.

When connecting internet cable to router and from router using patch cord to PC there is a delay (ping) in online games (peer-to-peer). This problem is solved by directly connecting the internet cable to the PC motherboard. The strangest thing is that the increase in latency is observed only with friends near me (we live a couple of meters away from each other and use the same ISP). In Tekken 8 my latency through the router is 133ms and with a direct connection 17ms if I connect to a friend. With other people this problem does not occur. In games where the connection goes to a dedicated server there are no problems, only in p2p games.

Tried to remove antivirus (Kaspersky), switch off firewall, reset the router to factory settings, helps only if I connect without using the router. The problem must be on my side as my friend has changed his place of residence, PC, router and different internet option (although the same ISP). I have a feeling that one of the settings is causing the problem, but I don't know which one (and what most of them do).

Attached below are examples:

1 - connection via router to a friend

2 - connection via router to a random person

3 - 8 connection via router with different hosts.

I fixed it by disabling NAT on the ISP side and using only the router's NAT.

Hi  @Alexandros47

So it seems that the problem is mainly with you and your friends who use the same ISP as you, right? May I know who your common ISP is?

Does your friend who uses the same ISP as you also use a TP-Link router? If so, what is the specific model?

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

Cable modem—router—)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection, )))(((stands for wireless connection)

For High ping, here are more detailed suggestions:

What should I do if I get the high ping value from TP-Link Wi-Fi router?

You can also consider to enable UPnP feature to make online games run smoothly:

How to make online games run smoothly by UPnP (new logo)

Hello  @Joseph-TP
My ISP is Dom ru (ER-Telecom Holding) - Russia.

Yes my friend also uses a router from TP-Link (AX1800), but the problem was also present when he used his previous router (dlink dir-x1530).

The topology diagram is as follows:  Cable to apartment—router—personal computer, no wireless connection.

I have read the information in the links below, but it did not help. UPnP is enabled by default and the ping does not exceed 2. I attach the results of the ping check below.
Also I don't understand why the problem is solved by connecting the internet cable directly to the PC. From this I assume that the settings on the computer are fine and the problem is in some setting on the router. I have also read that this problem can occur with double NAT. The ISP page says that it uses NAT and that you can switch it off. I also have NAT enabled on my router, but when I turn it off, the internet connection is lost, although if the ISP has NAT enabled, it should still work (but it does not).

Hi  @Alexandros47

It seems that the problem may be caused by double NAT.
I am glad that your problem has been solved, and thank you for your update and sharing of the solution~
