Hi,

We have 4 deco x20s and a givenergy Wi-Fi dongle for our givenergy solar system.

Recently the givenergy dongle dropped from the network.. spoke with givenergy saying they didn't support mesh networks. Also only support 2.4ghz networks. Even though it has been working for 2 years.

Firstly I don't think I can disconnect the dongle and try on another device.

So did some trouble shooting.

1) connected to the Wi-Fi dongle directly as it has its own hotspot. My network credentials correct and could see 1-2 of the x20s devices. Turned off all but main, still didn't connect.. disabled 5ghz, no joy

Tried running the network optimizer, channels changed but no good.. tried several times.. no good

2). Had a mifi router from three. Reconfigured givenergy dongle to use that network.. could see it and connect to it..

Any thoughts??

Have you tried to enable the Guest network with 2.4Ghz only, then test whether the Givenergy Wi-Fi dongle could connect to the Guest SSID?

Please try to set the Guest SSID with only numbers and letters in case some characters are not supported by the Givenergy Wi-Fi dongle:

Special Characters are not suitable as Wi-Fi Name and Password

I have exactly the same issue. I have a 3 x PX50 Mesh which has enabled by default Security as WPA + WPA2.

I get warnings from Deco saying it's insecure. However, if I change it to WPA2+AES the givenergy inverter refuses to connect (even when setting the inverter to the same setting).

If I turn off the deco mesh and turn on the Vodafone Router, the Givenergy inverter correctly connects to the Router using WPA2+AES.

So this makes me think there is an issue with TP-Links WPA2+AES implementation that is preventing some devices from connecting. So I either have weaker security that works, or stronger security which is so strong it doesnt work.
