Issue with C410 camera
Issue with C410 camera
Hi,
I've just bought 3 C410 KIT but it seems that one camera has some issues with the battery.
The solar panel is well exposed, but since last saturday I always see 100% of battery on the app. It never shows the charging process (the lightning icon) and it never goes down the 100%, but it's still working and recording. I tried to connect with a USB adapter, same result, no charging icon.
Now I've disconnected from the panel just to see if the battery level decreases below the 100%.
The other two camera are working as this one but I can see the charging icon during the day and when the sun goes down only the battery level.
Does this issue look familiar? I've bought on Amazon so I can send it back, but I want to be sure.
Thanks,

Try to reboot the camera, see if it helps. > Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds to turn on/off the camera.
Has this camera always shown 100% battery for this past whole week? Was the power display normal before?
Please enable the Diagnostics mode (Tapo app > Camera Device Settings page > Advanced Settings > Diagnostics) on this camera. And send its device Mac address to me via private message.

I tried to rebooy but nothing has changed. I think that the 100% was since we installed it, i realized just after the installation of the other cameras.
I'm sending the address.
Thanks

Hi, I have exactly the same issue I have two 410s with solar panel, one works fine the other just shows 100% all the time.
I tried:
Moving camera and panel
Resetting
Deleting and re adding to app
Still the same

Can you share a screenshot of the battery status page (Camera Settings > Battery) in the Tapo app for the problem camera? Does the battery icon on this camera switch to show the charging icon when solar or usb charging?
What's the version of your Tapo app?

Since reporting this to TP LInk the camera that was working is now doing the same thing.
If you click on the solar charging data for both cameras, they now both display as having no power supply IE solar panel is not connected.
Logging data would show this feature was working and now is not on this device.

@Danz_48
I am also having the same issue with 2 x C410 cameras.
I only setup the cameras on the weekend, I turned on Solar charging data logging and once they got to 100% charge they will not drop below 100%.
Both cameras will also not show any charging data and the battery has not dropped below 100%.

well I have an update. I left the camera unplugged from the panel for some days to see how it works. The level of the battery decreased to 96% while the camera was working normally. Then I reconnected it to the panel and now it's working as the other ones. It shows the lighting icon, it's recording and with the app I can see that the solar panel is powering the camera.
let's see in the next days
hope it helps

Do you all use TP-Link solar panel? Or solar panel from other brands?
What's the use frequency of your problematic C410? For example, how many times did the camera wake up? how many movements were detected and recorded? And how long did you view this camera each day?
Please note that when the camera battery is at 100%, the battery icon will not switch to the charging status icon (lightning icon) when charging.
